What Happens if Data is Unavailable?

Policies for unavailable data and credit returns.

Written by Richard Francis

Sometimes a contact, a valid email or a direct dial simply cannot be found. Here is how that is handled.

You only pay for what we deliver

  • Contacts that cannot be found within your targeting are excluded from the list.

  • Email addresses that fail validation are never charged.

  • Direct dials that cannot be found are not charged.

How credits are returned

Credits for your full request are reserved when the task launches. When the task completes, credits for anything undelivered are released back to your balance automatically.

Example: you request 100 contacts with direct dials, so 1,000 credits are reserved (5 per contact plus 5 per direct dial). We deliver all 100 contacts but only 80 direct dials. The 100 credits for the 20 missing dials return to your balance.

Why data might be unavailable

  • Very narrow targeting (a niche industry in a small area can simply run out of businesses)

  • Limited public information about a company or its owners

If we exhaust every matching business before reaching your requested amount, the task is marked accordingly and you are only charged for what was delivered. See Task Statuses and Delivery Estimates.

Tips to maximise delivery

  • Broaden the location or add related industries.

  • Check volume for free first: search Voyager DB to see how many matching businesses exist before launching.
