Credits are the currency used in Coldlytics to process Contact Research Tasks. Each task requires a certain number of credits based on the type and amount of data requested. Understanding how credits work will help you maximize your usage and stay within your budget.
How Do Credits Work?
Credits are deducted from your balance based on the data you request in a Contact Research Task. The system calculates credit usage as follows:
1 Credit per Verified Email Address
For every valid, deliverable email address provided.1 Additional Credit per Direct Dial
If you request phone numbers, 1 additional credit is deducted for each verified direct dial found.
Example:
Requesting 100 contacts with email addresses requires 100 credits.
Adding direct dials for those 100 contacts requires an additional 100 credits (total 200 credits).
How Are Credits Charged?
Credits Are Reserved at Task Submission
When you submit a task, credits for the full request are reserved from your balance. For example, if you request 50 contacts with direct dials, 100 credits (50 for emails + 50 for direct dials) are temporarily reserved.Unused Credits Are Refunded
If some requested data cannot be found (e.g., direct dials aren’t available for all contacts), unused credits are returned to your balance automatically.
Example:
You request 50 contacts with direct dials (100 credits reserved).
Only 30 direct dials are found.
20 credits are refunded to your balance.
Types of Data and Their Credit Costs
Data Type | Credit Cost |
Verified Email Address | 1 credit per contact |
Direct Dial (Phone Number) | 1 additional credit per direct dial |

How to Maximize Credit Usage
Refine Your ICP: A well-defined Ideal Customer Profile reduces wasted credits by focusing on the most relevant prospects.
Request Only What You Need: If you don’t require direct dials or LinkedIn profiles, omit them to save credits.
Use Voyager DB First: Pinpoint target companies in Voyager DB and submit only those for research to minimize unnecessary requests.
