Exporting data from Voyager DB is a straightforward process that allows you to download valuable company information to help fuel your outreach efforts. This guide explains how to export data, the limitations involved, and best practices for maximizing your exports.


Step 1: Perform a Search

Before exporting data, you’ll need to conduct a search using Voyager DB. To do this:

  1. Access Voyager DB
    Log in to your Coldlytics account and navigate to the Voyager DB section.

  2. Set Your Filters
    Use the available filters to refine your search. Filters include:

    • Location (e.g., city, radius, state)

    • Technologies used (e.g., Shopify, WordPress)

    • Social Media Profiles (e.g., Facebook, Instagram presence)

    • Google Business Profile (e.g., claimed/unclaimed status)

    • Advertiser Pixels (e.g., Facebook, TikTok)

  3. Review the Results
    Review the results that match your filters. You can adjust the search criteria to get more specific or broader results.


Step 2: Select Companies for Export

Once your search is complete:

  1. Save Companies to a List
    Mark the companies you wish to export by selecting them individually or using the "Select All" option. Saved lists can later be used for contact research tasks.

  2. Review Export Limits
    Each Coldlytics plan has specific export limits:

    • Freemium Plan: 100 records per month

    • Lite Plan: 1,000 records per month

    • Basic Plan: 10,000 records per month

    • Pro Plan: Unlimited exports per month

  3. Batch Export Limits
    Be mindful of the batch export limit:

    • Freemium and Lite Plans: 100 records per export

    • Basic Plan: 1,000 records per export

    • Pro Plan: 5,000 records per export


Step 3: Initiate the Export

To export the selected data:

  1. Click the Export Button
    After selecting your companies, click the Export button. You’ll be prompted to confirm the export.

  2. Choose Filename
    The exported data will be available in CSV format, which can be opened in Excel or other data tools.

  3. Download and Send via Email
    If checked, the file will be immediately downloaded in your browser, but also sent to you via an email attachment.


Step 4: Use Exported Data

The exported CSV file will include all the columns you selected when filtering your companies.

You can use this data for targeted outreach campaigns or to inform your marketing and sales strategies.


Tips for Effective Exports

  1. Start Broad, Then Refine
    Conduct broader searches initially to understand the data availability, then refine your filters for precision.

  2. Monitor Export Limits
    Keep track of your monthly export usage to avoid running out of limits unexpectedly.

  3. Combine Exports with Contact Research Tasks
    After exporting company records, submit the list for contact research to obtain direct emails and verified contact details.

  4. Leverage Saved Lists
    Use the "Save to List" feature to organize companies for future reference or batch processing.


Troubleshooting Export Issues

  • Why Can’t I Export Data?
    Ensure your account has remaining export credits. If limits have been reached, consider upgrading your plan.

  • Incomplete File
    If some data points are missing, it could be due to unavailable information for those companies.

  • Error Message
    Contact Coldlytics support if you encounter error messages or issues during the export process.
