Credits are the backbone of Coldlytics' contact research system, designed to make our service flexible and transparent. This guide explains how credits work, how they’re used, and how to maximize their value.

What Are Credits?

Credits are the currency you use to request contact details for your target prospects. Each credit represents the cost of delivering one manually researched, fully validated piece of data, such as an email address or a direct dial phone number. They ensure you only pay for the high-quality, accurate data that Coldlytics provides.

How Are Credits Used?

  1. Email Addresses

    • Each valid email address found by our team costs 1 credit.

    • Invalid or unverified emails are not charged, ensuring every credit is used efficiently.

    • Generic emails exported from the Voyager DB do not incur a credit charge.

  2. Direct Dial Phone Numbers

    • If you request direct dial phone numbers, each valid number costs an additional 1 credit.

    • For example, a task for 50 contacts with both email addresses and direct dials will require 100 credits.

  3. Catch-All Emails

    • Some domains are configured to accept all emails, making it difficult to verify individual addresses.

    • Coldlytics uses AI scoring to assess these addresses. Only catch-all emails with a score above 90% are included in your results. These are also charged 1 credit each, and a maximum of 20% of your list may include catch-alls. In the unlikely event you receive more than that, get in touch and we'll credit back the difference right away.

What Happens if Data Isn’t Found?

  • If Coldlytics cannot find valid data for part of your task, the unused credits are returned to your account upon task completion.

  • Example: If you request 100 contacts but only 80 valid emails are found, 20 credits are refunded.

Tracking Credit Usage

You can monitor your credit balance and usage in real time via the dashboard. This feature allows you to:

  • View your current credit balance and history.

  • See how many credits have been used for completed tasks.

  • Check how many credits remain for upcoming tasks.

Credits and Subscription Plans

Your subscription plan determines the number of credits included each month. Here’s a breakdown:

Not available

Lite

Basic

If you exceed your included credits, you can purchase top-ups (Lite, Basic, and Pro plans only) to continue submitting tasks without interruption.

Maximizing Your Credits

To get the most out of your credits:

  • Refine Your ICP: Be specific about your Ideal Customer Profile to avoid irrelevant contacts.

  • Prioritize Contact Types: Focus on the data types most valuable for your campaigns (e.g., emails over direct dials if phone outreach isn’t a priority).

  • Leverage Voyager DB: Use Voyager DB to narrow down your target companies before creating contact research tasks.

Credits FAQs

Q: Do credits roll over each month?
A: If you are on one of our paid plans, credits do roll over. If you are on our Freemium (free) plan, your credit balance will be reset to 25 each month.

Q: What happens if I cancel my subscription?
A: You will be placed on our Freemium plan, and your credit balance will therefore be reset to 25. Any unused credits above that amount will be lost. Alternatively, we do offer a 1 month pause during every 12 month rolling period, which you can request via the live chat. During this pause you are free to use Coldlytics as normal, and your credit balance will be maintained.

Q: Can I use credits for Voyager DB exports?
A: No, Voyager DB exports are governed by separate usage limits defined by your subscription plan. To view your these limits, simply navigate to the Voyager DB, and you will see them at the top-right of the screen.

Credits are a straightforward and cost-effective way to access high-quality, manually verified contact data. By understanding how they work, you can ensure your campaigns deliver maximum ROI. If you have further questions, contact our support team for assistance.
